Common questions
“Output size limit” appeared
Upscale output is capped at about 17 megapixels. Choose Use This Size to continue with a smaller enlargement, or crop the photo to the area you need and try again for the full 4×.
“No clear faces were found”
Faces needs a visible, reasonably large face. Try a closer crop of the portrait, or use Upscale, Denoise, or Sharpen instead. Your photo is not changed.
The result looks worse than the original
Try a different mode. Denoise can over-smooth fine texture, and Sharpen only helps slight softness. Don’t save a result you don’t like; the original stays in Photos.
I can’t pick or save photos
Check Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos and allow Local Photo Upscaler to access your library, then try again.
Processing is slow or the app closes on a huge image
Very large photos take more memory. Crop first, close other heavy apps, and make sure you are on version 1.1.8 or later.
Purchases
Local Photo Upscaler costs $9.99 once in the U.S. Payments, refunds, and purchase history are handled by Apple: request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. To reinstall, open your purchased apps in the App Store with the same Apple Account. Family Sharing is supported.
Privacy
The app processes photos on your device, has no account, and does not collect data. Read the privacy policy.
